Apple Growers Need Less Talk, More Action says MPP Wilson
(March 30, 2010) The time to stop talking and start acting is now, says Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson on the issue of assistance for apple growers. In the Legislature today, Wilson asked the McGuinty Government to get cheques into the hands of growers in The Blue Mountains. The text of his remarks from Hansard is as follows:

(November 24, 2009) Progressive Conservative MPP Jim Wilson (Simcoe-Grey) asked Dalton McGuinty in Question Period today why he approved $200,000 in disaster relief for the typhoon that hit the Philippines when he hasn’t given 1 cent to the apple growers in The Blue Mountains.

(September 17, 2009) Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson sought assurance from the McGuinty Liberals in Question Period today that extraordinary assistance would be provided to help apple growers affected by the recent tornado that touched down in The Blue Mountains on August 20th. The following is the text of the exchange from Hansard between Wilson and Deputy Premier George Smitherman:
(Queen's Park Report - Thursday, September 3, 2009) On Thursday, August 20th an F2 tornado swept through Ontario and caused significant damage and losses in the Town of The Blue Mountains. Since then, I have been working diligently to assist the Town and our local apple growers who have faced devastating losses resulting from the tornado. I want to update you on my efforts.
Jim Tours Apple Orchards with Agriculture Minister and Mayor
(August 29, 2009) New: Blue Mountains Tornado Update. Jim spent last week trying to get the McGuinty Government to understand the extent of the damage to The Blue Mountains area following the recent storm that destroyed personal and public property and severely damaged area apple farms. He spoke with several government officials, including the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Jim Watson. On the weekend he toured area apple orchards with Agriculture Minister Leona Dombrowsky and is seen here with the Minister (left) talking to Mayor Ellen Anderson.
